Our favorite go-to restaurant in South Squirrel Hill, Chengdu is amazing! Such a varied menu and everything is delicious; you can choose from American or Traditional Chinese food. Even Boba Tea!

We got two Chinese Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, which were excellent! Did not get Chicken Eggplant in Garlic Sauce - hopefully will get to try that on our next order!

Although they were packed with diners and those waiting for takeout, everything was ready at the proper time and I was surprised by their efficiency in all the potential confusion. Best of all, the food was the best ever. Not sure why, but my orders after 5 pm (5 star plus) seem consistently better prepared and taste better than during the lunch and early afternoon hours (4 1/2 star). With the closing of ZAWs on Murray, this is my go to for takeout. This applies too both menus.

Overall delicious food! However, the cellophane noodles with minced pork was too spicy! I wish there was a warning for which dishes were spicy and/or the option to provide a preferred spice level for each dish. I ended up having to cook some jap chae noodles myself and mix it with these noodles to tone down the spice. The shrimp leek egg dumplings, spring roll, Chinese broccoli, and sweet potato cake were all fantastic! Wish the dumplings came with a non-spicy dipping sauce though. Food arrived at the scheduled time and was nice and warm still.

Food is delivered promptly for a price that can't be beat. And listen: The sichuan pickled vegetables in red oil cannot be beat. I order 4 at a time. I would eat it every day if I could. Actually, I basically do eat it every day. Viva Chengdu.

Everything was delicious! Hands down the best Chinese food in Pittsburgh. We ordered things from both the American menu and the Sichuan menu, everything was flavorful, nothing was too spicy either, which Sichuan food can often be for people.

First time I used the service. I was attracted to the minimal delivery charge of $1 but also doubtful that it might not work out. However, the order arrived without difficulty in a reasonable period of time. I was very happy with the outcome!!

Our first experience with Chengdu Gourmet, and we can honestly say the food was fabulous. We weren't sure about taking the plunge on all Traditional Chinese dishes, so threw a General Tso's Chicken and an egg roll into our order. Although the General Tso's was good, the traditional dishes turned out to be our favorites. This will be our new regular Chinese restaurant. And ordering online through BeyondMenu worked well too (I have a little trouble hearing over the phone, especially with accents and a busy restaurant background).
